This publication presents an updated overview of integral bridge design principles, extending the guidance provided in SCI publication P340 in accordance with PD 6694-1. A summary of current practice is presented, identifying the principal configurations and connection details that are generally adopted for integral bridge construction in the UK. In addition, guidance is provided on commonly used analysis methods, the effects of skew, and choices for intermediate supports. Published: March 2025.
