1. About these Terms and Conditions

In these terms and conditions "we" and "us" means Steel Construction Institute and "you" means you the delegate or customer. In these terms and conditions words spelt with initial capital letters are defined terms. These terms and conditions together with your Booking constitute the Contract between us and you for the supply of Training and information. No other terms and conditions shall apply. The Contract cannot be varied unless we agree to vary it in writing or by email.

2. Booking Your Course/Event/Webinar place

To place a Booking you must be 18 years of age or over.

2.1 You may place a Booking by: 
Following the booking process on the SCI Training Portal website and clicking on the "Pay Now" 

Telephoning Education on +44(0) 1344 636500 09:00 and 17:00 (UK time) Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays, or by emailing your Booking to education@steel-sci.com.

2.2 When you Book your place you will receive a return email confirming your booking. 

2.3 By making a Booking, you make an offer to us to attend the Course/Event/Webinar you have selected under these terms and conditions. We may or may not accept your Booking at our discretion. If we accept your Booking, we will notify you of our acceptance by issuing a Booking Confirmation. We will send your Booking Confirmation to you by email or verbally over the phone.

2.4 If we cannot accept your Booking we will contact you by email or telephone.

2.5 Information contained on the SCI Training portal website constitutes an invitation to treat. No such information constitutes an offer by us to supply any Training/information.

3. Supply of Your Training

Subject to these terms and conditions, we will supply to you the Training/Information indicated on your Booking Confirmation.

4. Prices

The price for courses, event and webinars will be the price indicated on the SCI Training portal website, but are subject to change.

4.1 VAT is payable for Courses, events and webinars where a charge is made.

5. Paying for Your Booking

Payment for your Booking must be paid for in full prior to the commencement of the Course, Event or webinar.

5.1 You must pay in pounds sterling as indicated on the SCI Training Portal website.

5.2 You must supply your credit/debit card details when you make your Booking.

6. Payment methods

Payment may be made using Visa, MasterCard, Switch or Delta (Not American Express) using the SagePay (verisecurepayment) Server system. Your card details are verified over an encrypted secure channel and are not disclosed to us. We only receive notification from SagePay as to whether the card transaction was authorised or declined. If you wish to pay by a method other than credit/debit card purchases please contact our sales staff (Email education@steel-sci.com  or Telephone +44 (0) 1344 636500. 

7. Your Right to Cancel a Booking

Cancellation(s) of your course, event or webinar places must be received no later than 5 working days prior to the training, event, webinar programme start to qualify for a full refund.

7.1 Delegates attending free events

Delegates who sign up to attend a free event, but fail to cancel within the above time limit (5 working days) will be liable for a £25 + VAT charge to cover catering costs and administration costs.

8. Substitution of another delegate for your Booking

If you are unable to attend your Booking you may make a delegate substitution in your place. If you wish to make a delegate substitution for your Booking contact SCI Education on +44 (0)1344 636500 between 09:00 and 17:00 Mondays to Fridays or email Education@steel-sci.com to provide the substitutes name.

9. SCI’s Right to Cancel a Course, Event or Webinar

If there are not enough delegate bookings to cover the costs of running a course, event or webinar SCI reserve the right to cancel the event. In such a case where payment has been made for the Booking a full refund will be provided.

10. Photography or videoing of Course, Event or Webinar

By attending a Steel Construction Institute event, you consent to being photographed and/or videoed. These photographs may appear in promotional material, social media and coverage of the course, event or webinar, and may be use to promote future Steel Construction Institute training events. If you do not wish to have your photo or video shown please let us know.

10. Our Liability

If you are a Delegate/Consumer, nothing in the Contract shall limit or exclude our liability for breach of any term implied by statute.

If you are not a Delegate/consumer:
These terms and conditions set out the full extent of our obligations and liabilities in respect of the supply of training;
there are no warranties, conditions or other terms that are binding on us except as expressly stated in the Contract; and any warranty, condition or other term concerning the Services which might otherwise be implied into or incorporated in the Contract by statute, common law or otherwise (including without limitation any implied term as to quality or fitness for purpose) is hereby expressly excluded.

10.1 Subject to Conditions 10, we will not be liable under the Contract for any loss of income, loss of profits, loss of contracts, loss of data or for any indirect or consequential loss or damage of any kind howsoever arising and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise.

10.2 Subject to Conditions 10 and 10.1 our maximum aggregate liability under the Contract whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise shall in no circumstances exceed the amount payable by you to us in respect of the Booking(s) in question.

12. Export Control

You agree to comply with all Export Laws. You agree (i) not to export any Product to any country in contravention of any Export Law, and (ii) not to export any Product to any country for which an export licence or other governmental approval is required, without first obtaining all necessary licences or other approvals. You warrant that you are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any country to which export of the Products is prohibited by any Export Law.

13 Liability

We make no promise that our Internet services will meet your requirements, or that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or entirely error free. We shall not be liable for any losses resulting from the use or the inability to use the service or messages received or transactions entered into through the service or resulting from unauthorised access to, or alteration of your transmissions or data. We will not be liable for loss of profits, wasted expenditure, corruption or destruction of data or any other loss.

14 Copyright/Trademarks/Data protection

All rights in the designs and information on the web site are owned by The Steel Construction Institute. You may copy and print portions of this web site for the sole purpose of placing an order with our Internet services. The materials on our Internet sites may not be used for any other purpose. We will use the information you provide and transactional information, for administering this service and for marketing purposes including market research. We may analyse your data and send you offers and information by mail or e-mail about our other products or services. If you do not want us to contact you by mail or e-mail, or send you offers, please advise us by sending an Email to education@steel-sci.com

15. Laws

These conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and any disputes will be decided only by the Courts of England and Wales.
